The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Party
Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, fiends, and dark forces growing in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of characters who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then settled his debts and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the party reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to head to the northern region in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Explorers and Schemers parties.
